Rooftop units will have a metal stand it sits on and the air is distributed through a sheet metal elbow that attaches from the system to the roof. Package systems can also be located on the ground. They will be sitting on a concrete slab or pavers. They will attach to the home with a sheet metal box that will distribute the air throughout the home.
